  Separation Manager - Talent Management.
 
  Taken, verantwoordelijkheden en resultaten:
 
- Responsible for the communal separation activities of the Talent Management departments of Fortis Corporate, Fortis Bank and ASR.

- Lead a 5-person project team with the assignment to stop all communal activities, adapt to the new stand-alone situation of ASR and integrate into the existing ASR Talent department. This department needed to be capable to support and service the new ASR organisation at a similar or higher level than before the separation.

- All corporate (Fortis) activities needed to be cancelled; nevertheless the knowledge of these Fortis programmes needed to be gathered and made available to the ASR Talent department.

- The combined labour market communication of Fortis Bank and ASR was cancelled and placed in a newly created department ASR Recruitment & Selection (approx. 10 heads, 7 FTE)

- An ASR-specific training and education offering was defined and new contracts with suppliers were created.

- Functional criteria for the Talent IT systems were defined and brought into the systems & administration project.

- The existing ASR talent department was restructured without raising FTE numbers (excluding the Recruitment & Selection
department). It was done in a manner that it could be kept lean looking forward to a possible sale of ASR on a later date. The department was brought to an operational level within the allotted time-frame.

  Global Head of Fortis’ International Associate Programme
 
  Taken, verantwoordelijkheden en resultaten:
 
- Member of Fortis’ Talent Management management team.

- Responsible for the creation of a new, global graduate programme, incorporating all existing graduate programmes within Fortis, its businesses and countries. The goal of the programme was to position Fortis as a preferred employer for this target group.

- Lead a direct team of 3 and a ‘virtual’ worldwide team of 20, in defining the programme and curricula for both generalists and specialists.

- My main activities and that of my direct team were to:
-- Determine the required inflow of new graduates per year and required programme budget.
-- Develop and organise the common curriculum applicable to all graduates of the programme.
-- Organise and manage the international training sessions for all graduates. These meetings were strongly supported by senior business representatives and highly evaluated by the participants: 4.5 out of 5.
-- Define common guidelines applicable to the curricula for the various specialisations.
-- Monitor and control the quality of the entire programme.

- In 2008, the budget was approved for €180 million for 3 years (with a yearly inflow of 330 new graduates).

- Responsible for the integration of ABN AMRO’s graduate programmes relevant to Fortis (as a result of the takeover of ABN AMRO by the consortium of Fortis, Santander and RBS).

- Integration plans for the ABN AMRO graduate programme into the Fortis International Associate Programme were made and were ready to be implemented, as soon the Dutch National Bank gave the ‘green light’ for the integration.

  Project Leader - Reward: Process Improvement for Senior Management Appraisal
 
  Taken, verantwoordelijkheden en resultaten:
 
- Leading a direct team of 3 and a worldwide ‘virtual’ team of approx. 30, I was responsible to define and implement within 3 months one, single, error-free appraisal process for Fortis’ senior management (top 300) and manage the first year of the new appraisal process.

- Responsible for making the process-improvement methodology (based on Lean) applicable to Human Resources. Become an expert in this field and began to apply this approach to other HR processes.

- Within the allotted timeframe I implemented and ran the new, error-free senior management process.

- Based upon my experiences a process improvement team was trained and installed within Fortis HR

- Based upon my recommendations a new department was created, specifically targeting HR topics for senior management.

Lead and managed projects which impacted either local and/or global levels in order to achieve the business goals set within one or more parts of the Fortis organisation. The most important projects and responsibilities were: (see also Project Leader - Reward: Process Improvement for Senior Management Appraisal)

- Head of Operations: Leadership for Growth Programme
-- Programme on leadership and culture targeting Fortis’ top 3000. Goal was to improve the leadership within Fortis by creating one common culture and leadership practice for the entire organisation, while using clear axioms for behaviour, called Fortiomas
-- Leading a team of 3, I was responsible for all logistical topics related to the programme (e.g. location, transportation, materials, communication to participants and suppliers and the related budget). Approximately 100 sessions of 30 participants were organised.
-- Supported the programme director in the design of the programme curriculum. I was actively involved in the evaluation of the programme and made suggestions and proposals for improvement to make the programme as successful as possible. Participants evaluated the programme positively: 4.3 out of 5 points.
-- Responsible for the creation of tools for managers and communications professionals to support the cultural axioms Fortiomas. These tools were used to support them in their daily work with their teams.
-- Created a toolbox with exercises, guidelines, suggestions and tips which were then distributed to approx. 3200 managers.
-- Developed and organised a workshop to introduce the toolbox. It was evaluated 4.6 out of 5 points.
